This matcha is crafted at Yabuzaki-en Tea Farm in Asahina area in Shizuoka, a region long respected for producing well-balanced Japanese green tea. Surrounded by mountains and clear air, the farm benefits from a natural environment that supports healthy tea plants and clean, expressive flavors.
For this matcha, young tea leaves are shaded before harvest to enhance umami and natural sweetness. After harvesting, the leaves are slowly stone-milled into a fine powder. The standard matcha has a perfect balance of sweetness, bitterness and umami perfect as a usucha or latte.
